In 2025 Joe Congel and CW Hawes proposed the possibility of writing a new multi-author series.

 

Several of the Underground Authors liked the idea, deciding they wanted to try their hand at something new. After much discussion, Tales from Car 4488, a portal fantasy series, was born.

 

This new series will feature a variety of genres tied together under the portal fantasy umbrella, and all linked together by the mysterious subway Car 4488 and portal gate keeper Arman.

 

Tales from Car 4488 launched in January 2026 as the Underground Authors begin a new phase in their going creative and entertainment endeavors.
