For many years, Cindy was known for her murder mysteries and romantic suspense, many of which were set in her home state of New Hampshire. And they achieved considerable success.

The shift in style between plotting out a full novel versus the tighter plot points needed to develop a good short story helps keep Joe thinking outside the box.
When Joe is not writing he can be found spoiling his grandkids.

Kelly Marshall
I always thought I would communicate in the world as a writer. As a child I was a voracious reader and knew someday I would pen a great novel. Life sometimes takes unexpected turns, and I attended broadcasting school instead of a four-year college. I spent numerous years having fun, spinning records, interviewing people, and doing love song dedications. I had a ball until…
The U.S. Congress passed the Telecommunications Act of 1996, which allowed broadcast corporations to own multiple radio stations in the same market. The gobbling began, and soon behemoth broadcasting corporations ate up radio stations like locusts in a wheat field. And radio announcers like me were axed on bloody Fridays with surgical precision. I left radio and went to work for Social Security. I had a successful career with the federal government and retired in January of 2023. Now I spend my waking hours fulfilling my lifelong dream of being a full-time successful writer.

Marjorie Doering
Marjorie credits her interest in writing to the unusual backdrop of her childhood. When she was just ten months old, her incredibly hardworking father enlisted a partner and bought an eighteen-hole golf course. The new town had a tiny population. For the family of six, the same was true of their living accommodation at the end of the course’s clubhouse. Living on-site allowed little privacy, but Marjorie discovered she genuinely enjoyed her view from inside the fishbowl looking out. She grew up observing and imagining. Eventually, her imagination outgrew its bounds, and a multi-genre author emerged.
At the University of Stevens Point, Marjorie graduated with a degree in secondary education with a major in English and a minor in psychology. Still living happily in Wisconsin, she and her husband have two grown children, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren—wonderful, each and every one of them.
